Breast Cancer

My dear friend Linda whom I have known for years called me today and gave me some very shocking news.  She is going through a procedure tomorrow morning and asked me to care for her son while she is at the hospital and then... She told me that she is battling breast cancer!  My heart just died when she told me.  I wish that we could just learn how to kill this thing off and that we would NEVER have to EVER hear it's ugly name again!

There have been so many women that I have known that have battled this horrible disease and even one of my dearest friends lost her Mom to it at such a tender age. I just wish that there was something that I could do for her to wipe out all of her fears and take this whole awful thing away.

I watched this amazing movie the other day with my Husband called "Letters to God."  It is a movie about a young boy dealing with a very aggressive / lethal form of cancer.  In the movie, the young boy asks "Why me?  Why did this have to happen to me?"  In which the response was.. " Because God chose you.  He chose you to be a warrior for him.. for a great purpose that you might not yet understand.  He did all this because He finds you worthy and special beyond all others."
I thought about this long and hard.. and I agree.  Sometimes I wish that we could call God on the phone and actually hear his voice on the line talking back to me.  Then I would be like " Oh!  I understand!  Okay...  I feel much better now that I know and you have explained."
I know that is not His way... but I sure wish it was. :)

I don't know who reads this... If anyone at all.  But if you are out there....Please say a prayer for Linda tonight.  She needs all the support she can get.

Jacob ~ Tae kwan Do

Jacob has decided that he wants to take Tae Kwan Do.  So,  yesterday we set forth on a quest to find the perfect place that would meet our needs.  We looked at three different facilities before we found one that was just what we where looking for.  The Dojo was clean and we where greeted almost right away.  Everyone was very friendly and approachable and ready to answer any questions that we had.  What made it perfect? ... The price!

Today,  I took Jacob in for his first class.  He was so excited that he woke up this morning at 8:45am and asked me when his class was... It wasn't until 5:45pm.. :)  Silly rabbit!   So,  All day he talked about it and when we got there he was just beside himself.  I have never seen him so focused!  He was really paying attention and giving every move his best effort.  I was so proud of him.  His next class is on Monday so he has the whole weekend to practice what he learned today and be ready to go.

Look out world.... Nani has her learners permit !

Well,  It is official !  Nani has taken a huge step and went and got her learners permit from the courthouse today.  I have to say that I am excited about this new journey she has taken in her life but I would be fibbing if I said that I wasn't worried.  It is such a wonderful thing to watch your child grow up but there is a piece of me that wants to keep her little ... forever!  But,  I know that driving will open up a whole new world of opportunities for her.  So,  The next step is Drivers Ed.   Oh... boy... Look out world! Here she comes!

Time to go in and tip over that next mile stone in life!

They gave her a temporary paper one but the pretty laminated one comes in the mail in 2~3 weeks.  She is so excited and ready to start learning!

Whole Foods... Can Everyone Say Yumm !?

My daughter Nani and I decided to go the the Whole Foods store today.  We always have so much fun looking through all the wonderful healthy choices that are available to us and tasting the cheeses that they have out for samples.  We normally hit the Sushi bar right away, but today we decided to get this amazing salmon from the sea food counter.  It was covered in a basil and oregano pesto, some tomato slices, and this really wonderful white cheese ~ that for the life of me I can't remember the name of.  After feeling over-joyed from our find, we decided that we were hungry and made some incredible salads at the salad bar.  We both agreed that they were the best salads that we had EVER had!!  I want to go back and make another one already!   We love going to the Whole Foods store!  Everything is soo fresh, the people who work there are so friendly, and you never have to worry about pesticides or dyes being in your food.  :)  The produce smells sooo good!  Just the way GOD made it !  Can't wait to go again and spend some fun girl time with my Nani.

The produce department is one of my favorite stopping gounds.

My Nani is all Smiles!
