Lenny's Surgery Day

My husband Lenny had to have outpatient surgery today out at the Midwest Surgical Hospital. It is a state of the art out/ in patient surgical facility. He had to go in and have his tonsils and adenoids removed along with a upp procedure to help him breath better while sleeping. We arrived around 9am and his procedure began around 10am. He came through it like a champ but He did not recover as well as we had all hoped. He had a really hard time keeping his oxygen levels up and pain under control. Due to this setback, Our doctor decided to admit him into the inpatient hospital that is attached to the surgical center and monitor him through out the night. I am so glad that she did because already we have a much better handle on his pain management. Hopefully, If all goes according to plan, He will be able to come home with us tomorrow. :) Me and My Boo

Homemade low-carb Pizza!

Every now and then we come across a low-carb recipe that gets us really excited to try. Pizza on a low carb diet is an absolute no- no! So, you can imagine our excitement when we came across this one in a low carb diet cookbook. Only 5 carbs per pizza. And man are they good! Mariah had so much fun making these and they literally only have six ingredients to play with. All you need is a low-carb tortilla with sliced miniature tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, sprinkled with oregano, and top with peperoni slices or whatever type of pizza meat you like. Soo good! My daughter sure knocked this one out of the ball park!

Nani- Pizza's just came out and ohhhh... they smell soo good!

She even made cheese pizza's for her brother.

Farmers Market

Every Saturday morning there is a farmers market in the Old Market area in dowtown Omaha. It is a wonderful display of Organic foods, pottery, jewlrey, pastreys, and even fresh flowers and herbs are for sale. My dear friend Angie and I got up early this last Saturday morning and took our girls with us to the Market. We were even able to find Angie's mom in the crowd. :) We had such a nice time walking from booth to booth smelling and tasting all the freash foods. We brought quite a bit home with us. I can't hardly wait until next Saturday to do it again and see what it new. What a wonderful thing to do on a Saturday morning .... Worth getting up for!

These children were very good violin players!

Pool Day!

During the summer one of our favorite things to do is spend time at the pool. So, every year I buy a pool pass and we go almost on a daily bases. What can I say, We are the fun in the sun type. :D Today, We invited my dear friend Angie and her wonderful girls to come with us. The kids had such a great time together and with it being such a hot day, It was a nice way to cool off and beat the heat. We were concerned earlier in the day for it started clouding up and it rained some. But, We were blessed to see the sun come out and it really turned out to be a gorgeous day!

Heather's Visit

My dear friend Heather came up for the weekend with her two wonderful boys to visit us. It was so great to have them! They Stayed with us so that gave us alot of time to talk and enjoy eachothers company. While they were here, My Hubby and I tried to show them a great time. We took them out to see " Despicable Me" at Midwest Crossings Cinedine movie theater, Celebrated Nani's 17th birthday party at the bowling alley, took them to an Arcade called "The Amazing Pizza Machine", went to church together, and even had a great lunch at a new Chinese restraunt. It was such a great time and we were sad to see them have to go back home. Next time, I will have to make a trip to go and visit them and see what fun things their city has to offer. :)

Mariah's 17th Birthday!

It is so hard to believe that our baby girl is 17 years old! Wow! Where has the time gone? It seams like just yesterday she was just a baby in our arms and now she is growing into such a vibrant young woman. It is such a privilage to watch her grow. :)
This year for her birthday she decided that having a 1950's flashback bowling party would be fun and it really was! It was so nice to have all of our closest friends and family come out and celebrate with us. Everyone played two games of bowling and had pizza. It was a great time! We would definatly do it agian. Maybe even next year.

Off to camp Rivercrest!

Mariah took a huge leap of faith in her life and off to church camp. She was apprehensive for she is not the get out and get one with nature kind of girl but she was very excited to get out and try something new. We were all so excited when we arrived at the camp and saw how clean and nice it was! They had all kinds of things for the young people to do there. Lenny and I wanted to become teenagers so that we could stay but Mariah said that was a " no go.." hahahhaa! It was hard leaving her there for a week but I knew that she was going to have an amazing time and boy did she ever! When we picked her up she told us wonderful stories of all the wonderful friends she made, Her paintballing experience, and she evern tried archery! I am so glad that she was able to get out of ther comfort zone and go experience something new in life. Two thumbs up for church camp!
