My Nephew Had to do a Science project for school this evening. To make the project not so boring... we decided to try to make learning a little fun! He had to make models to show certain elements on the periodic table. We used food coloring to dye marshmallows to represent protons, neutrons, and electrons. Then, We placed them onto one large white marshmallow using toothpicks. My kids had a lot of fun helping out there cousin and learned a lot to! They ate a lot more marshmallows than they dyed, but that was to be expected. After the project was complete, They became very creative and decided to make up their own elements and give them exciting names. It was so refreshing to see my Nephew so excited about learning and He can't hardly wait to share all he learned about science with his Mom and his Science teacher. A very good time was had by all.
