On day two of our family vacation, we decided to take the kids into DC to see some museums. We went to the National art museum and the Museum of Natural History. We saw dinosaurs, mummies, amazing art, and even the Hope Diamond! There was a man outside selling Obama beanies! hehheehe! It was so funny the way he was selling them! He made us laugh! We sat outside and had popcorn from a nearby vendor and even fed he pigeons. Next time, we will have to see even more! It was a really nice family day out.

Hanging in the hotel
On the first night of being home, The family all came over to our hotel suite to spend some time with us. It was so great to see everyone!! We ordered Popeye's chicken and sat around and talked all evening. It has been far to long since I had laughed that hard! We even got a surprise when Our niece Alexis informed us of that she and her long time boyfriend eloped that morning. We couldn't be happier for her! What a wonderful announcement! I think that we kept everyone in the hotel up that night. WOW we are a loud family!
Al's Steak House!
We arrived in Alexandria Virginia! As in Galloway tradition, after dropping our luggage off at the hotel, We headed off to Al's Steak House!! It was soo good! The kids had a really good time and my husband was in heaven! What a great way to start our trip home to see the family. It just doesn't get any better than Al's!

Papio bowl family night
Tonight was a really fun night! We went out to Papio bowl for my Uncle Gerry's 50th birthday celebration. The family was all there and everyone was having a good time bowling as cheering each other on! There were Dollor prizes for strikes and some for spares. You could even win $10 for three strikes in a row! (a turkey) It was really nice to spend quality time with everyone. I hadn't seen everyone in about two years. It is amazing how fast the time flys on by. I sure hope that we can all do it again sometime really soon.

Harvest Party
Every Fall we look forward to enjoying the night of the harvest party. The kids have such a good time playing games in winning candy! This year after returning home from the party, Our neighbors invited us over for an outdoor get together. There were lots of games and the kids had fun wrapping each other up in toilet paper! Whoever was wrapped that fastest, got a prize! They also enjoyed the bone scavenger hunt. It was such a wonderful night to be outside! We are looking forward to next years event.

God-Parents!!
Well, It is official!! We are the proud God-Parents of little Riley Papera!! How beautiful she was all dressed up in her formal baptismal gown. The ceremony was lovely and there where many family and friends in attendance. It's always wonderful to see such an outpouring of love on such a memorable day in a young ones life. Lenny and I pray that we will be the best God-Parents that we can possibly be.
And the LORD spoke to Moses saying,
"Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, 'This is the way you shall bless the children of Israel. Say to them:
The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.'"
Numbers 6:22-26
This is my prayer for this little one.
These six things I ask my Father this child. Bless her. Keep her; keep her safe, keep her in Your arms, keep her as Your own. Shine Your face upon her; Father, let her reflect You. Be gracious to her; that includes Your mercy and compassion. Father, Your countenance will let her have Your appearance, others will look at her and see You. Peace, meaning harmony, tranquility, or serenity. Let this be our prayer.. that this little girl, Your little one who you have bestowed to us as a gift, will walk with you always. Thank you, Father for trusting her to us.

Jacob- The Horse Whisperer
Some things in life can be scary. The first time you ever ride your bike alone without training weels, the first time you ever sleep in your room with the lights off, and in Jacob's case....the first time you ride on a pony without holding on to Mommy's hand. After the ride, Because of his sure bravery, He was offered to feed the horse an apple. Slimmed with apple foam and grinning from ear to ear Jacob left the barn in a complete state of bliss. Even though the horses name was Samson, Jacob insisted on calling him "Old Davey". What a day!

Jacob.......The master baker!!
Jacob came up wit the Idea that He wanted to make cookies! Now... Normally I micro-manage every aspect of the kids baking in the kitchen, but this time I made a point to only supervise. He did sooo well! He had such a good time reading the intructions and learning how to follow step by step directions. He was so careful and He was very happy to see how well his little project had turned out. Next time....Maybe we will learn how to make cookies from scratch!
The Race for the Cure
Last weekend I ran in the Race for the cure that was held downtown at the civic center. It was the funnest 5k I have ever run! There where Cheerleaders, firemen, gospel groups, and even police men that where all along the roads cheering us on!! It was a sea of people....17,000 to be exact! Crazy!! I cannot wait until next year to do it again!
